Meditation is the act of quieting one’s mind to connect with the spiritual spark of who you are. Many people have the image of a lotus-posed yogi sitting on a mountain chanting. While this can be true, for most people it is not practical.

Meditation can be done in so many different ways. Seated meditation, focused breathing, guided visualization, walking meditation, and chanting are a few to start exploring with.

Finding a practice that resonates with your style is important. If you try and force a practice that doesn’t fit you’ll feel like a fish out of water and abandon the practice.

A regular practice helps you turn inward, listen to your own inner wisdom, tune in to what is true for you, and be your authentic self.

As for me my daily meditation practice is seated, short and sweet, and pretty consistent. I also use guided visualizations and walk a labyrinth.
